Urban Thermal Characteristics of Local Climate Zones and Their Mitigation Measures across Cities in Different Climate Zones of China

Understanding the urban thermal environment is vital for improving planning and strategy development when mitigating heat islands. However, characteristics of local climate zones (LCZ) are different within cities most studies lack regional perspective. This study explored surface performances in three agglomerations (Jing-Jin-Ji, Yangtze River Delta Pearl Delta) China using MODIS land temperature (LST). Besides that, diurnal seasonal LST variations LCZs also studied. Moreover, optimal better cooling investigated this study. Although distributions China, there still some similar features.
